Tug of War

On Wednesday we had to choose five girls and five boys then at lunch we played Tug of War. It was really fun the hardest part was when we pulled the rope. I liked it when people cheered for room8. I was sad that room8 lost anyway its only a game suddenly room9 won. Next year I really want to be a librarian and a house captain.

Managing myself

Room 8 is going to Ngaruawahia only if you get your 10 ticks so that means I need to work hard all day by sitting up and not talking to my friends.

SPOTLIGHT ON THE ARTS

On Wednesday night I was in Kapa Haka and before we had to get on the stage we went to room 5 to get dress in our pew pew and put lipstick on I was shy and last Saturday we had to come to school to practice I didn't go because I forgot I came with my family I didn't know how to do the poi.

My speech

Hi my name is Zaeleh and my speech is about netball. I was too shy to share it in front of the class and I need to work on eye contact and speaking loud sometimes but I'm not shy to sing.

Rugby World Cup

Today the whole school had to dress in different Costumes but I think we had the best, USA
costumes. I liked dressing up in the clothes because it looks nice and warm and the colours were red and blue.

I want NZ to win the world cup!!!!!!!!!!!

Current Events

Hi this is Room8 sharing about Current Events and I had Did you know fact and I enjoyed listeing to my group and I had to persevere by not being shy. The challngeing part was to get prepared for Current Events.

Sugary Drinks

In room8 we where talking about sugary drinks and some drinks had sugar in them but coke had lots and lots of sugar then we had to put the drinks in a line after that Milly told us that fruit drink has lots of sugar in it.

The easy thing was... to glue the cups on and tie the string on.

My goal for term 2

My goal is to work on Capitals letters and fullstops in my writing.

My learning

We are learning to make flax ropes so we can catch the sun like Maui. Mrs Anderson taught us how the Maori bless the flax bush before cutting. We were also shown how to cut the flax bush so we do no harm to it. Mrs Anderson used her finger nails to strip the green outer off the leaves to show stringey stuff. She then taught us how to plait the fibres into a strong rope. This is how Maui and his brothers managed to catch the sun and slow it down so we have more day light. This is also good for the flax bush because it would not grow if it did not have enough sunlight.
